Patio Bar

Capacity: up to 39 guests

With an exclusive bar catering to you and your guests, the Patio Bar is located to the right of the venue as you first walk in.

Patio Bar + Courtyard

Capacity: 40 to 60 guests, or 40 to 90 with wet weather back-up included

For larger soirées, add our lush garden Courtyard to the Patio Bar. The cactus-fringed Courtyard sits at the far right end of the venue, open to the sky.

Packages

Canapes, cocktails and the extras

From $35 per person

Three canape packages for stand-up cocktail events, starting at five canapes per person. Our Events Team will build a proposal around your date, your guest numbers and your space.

Minimum spend requirements vary depending on the day of your booking and the size of your group.

  • Seasonal canapes. House and premium selections such as kingfish tostada, fish taco, chorizo croquettes and lobster torta.
  • Beverage packages. Two four-hour packages of wine, beer and sparkling, available for bookings of 45 guests or more.
  • Bar tab. Prefer to choose your own drinks? Set a bar tab on consumption and we will keep you updated through the event.
  • On arrival. Welcome your guests with a margarita, an agua fresca or a round of guacamole.
  • To finish. Add a dessert canape such as churros with spiced rum caramel.

Function questions, answered

How many guests can MAYA host for a function?

MAYA hosts events from a single booth to the whole rooftop. Booths seat 8 to 16. The Patio Bar hosts up to 39 guests, and the Patio Bar and Courtyard together host 40 to 60, or 40 to 90 with our wet weather back-up included. The Half Venue hosts up to 110 guests, the Main Bar 90 to 120, and the Full Venue Exclusive up to 250.

Is there a minimum spend?

Yes. Minimum spend requirements vary depending on the day of your booking and the size of your group. If the minimum spend is not met by the end of your event, a venue hire fee covers the difference. Our Events Team will confirm the figure for your date.

How much do function packages cost?

Canape packages for stand-up cocktail events start from $35 per person. Beverage packages are available for four-hour bookings of 45 guests or more, or you can run a bar tab on consumption. The full price list is in our events package.

Can we book a seated event?

Yes. Our share-style set menu is available for groups of 8 or more. Enquire through the form on this page or email events@maya-mexican.com.au.

Can we bring our own music, decorations or cake?

MAYA is an open venue, so music and entertainment are supplied by us. Decorations need prior approval from our Events Manager. Celebration cakes can be brought in with prior notice, with a cakeage fee of $5.00 per person, or you can order our Celebration Cake with 72 hours notice.

Are minors welcome at events?

The attendance of minors must be approved by our Events Manager before your booking. Minors are permitted until 8pm and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. MAYA does not accept bookings for 18th or 21st birthdays.

Is there a dress code?

MAYA has a smart-casual dress code, with a more elevated standard from 9pm. Overly casual attire such as flip flops, singlets, hoodies and baseball caps may be declined.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made in writing to our Events Manager. Your deposit is refunded when you cancel at least two weeks before the booking date. November and December bookings cancelled within two weeks of the date forfeit 50% of the deposit.
